Most of Donna's life, she's felt the internal tugging to paint and one of her inspirations were birds. From a young age, Donna had finches for pets and enjoyed just watching those small delicate creatures while trying to communicate and gain their trust. Donna feels she have a special connection to birds and often says that she must have been an oriental bird in her past life. Birds are so mysterious, intelligent, and beautifully delicate, all while having very sharp talons. There are so many unusual and beautiful bird species that Donna feels there is an endless supply of painting inspiration.
Oriental art, decor, and architecture always seems to capture Donna's attention so she has added Koi fish to her choice of painting subject matter. Donna has really enjoyed the challenge of painting flowing fins and how water moves while reflecting light and motion. Now that she have been focusing on painting for the past few years, Donna can now "see" all the different colors and shapes in daily life. She often thinks to myself, "how would I paint that?" and "how do all these color shapes fit together to make an image?"
Donna's jewelry designing has just started up again. She is currently working on a oriental inspired line with birds, Koi, Mandarin inspirational words with coral, turquoise, celadon and jade green semi precious gemstones.
