Lorri Acott

Lorri Acott is an intuitive sculptor, working in clay, she reveals the depths of her heart by bringing forth the many dimensions of our own human experiences. Her long-legged figures, whether child, woman, man or horses, reflect intimate yet universal moments in life: a feeling, an interaction, a realization. The lovely simplified figures are often without details of faces or clothing that interfere with the opportunity to relay our innate understanding of the human gesture that informs our spirit. It is always a soulful journey when experiencing Lorri’s work.

Dream Big Sculpture is the company Lorri and her husband Adam have embarked upon in a quest to bring sculpture to the world. Their partnership is unparallel in experience, generosity and vision - a combination that invigorates their talent exponentially.

Lorri and Adam live in the mountains of northern Colorado, her studio windows overlook their meadow with changing views of the seasons. An ideal place for her to let her heart flow into expressions in clay.

She is in many galleries and shows throughout the world. La Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Tuscany, Italy, showcases her as an instructor in her paper clay technique developed by her desire to reach long extended graceful shapes using an understructure of rebar to build the forms that are then fired in raku kilns. Visit Dream Big Sculpture to learn more about their recent Tuscany/Florence symposium and documentary.

Lorri has influenced the lives of people of all ages, beginning as a high school art teacher and expanding nationally and internationally, she has created an army of inspired sculptors of feelings expressed in the movement of clay.
